(Viola) – The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office says they’re investigating an attempted abduction that took place in Viola on Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office says that the 7-year-old girl had gotten off the bus in front of her home off of Highway 223 South in Viola around 3 PM Tuesday. That’s when police say a male subject got out of a vehicle and came toward the child. The girl saw the man and ran inside the home, while the man ran back to his dark blue 4-door car and took off south on Highway 223.
Fulton County Chief Deputy Al Roork says that, while they do not want to alarm parents, they do want to encourage them to watch or escort their children two and from the bus, no matter where you live, adding that abductions take only seconds to occur.
