Nestled among the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, the Calico Rock School District encompasses 192.65 geographically diverse square miles of stunning scenery in Izard, Baxter, and Stone counties.  The White River, the Ozark National Forest, Lake Norfork, and several freshwater creeks and streams add to the natural beauty of the district and attract outdoorsmen and sports enthusiasts from around the world.  Business, farming, and tourism are an integral part of the local economy, and the Calico Rock School District is home to many established families as well as a growing number of young families and retirees who embrace the quality of life in the Ozarks.

Serving over 2,600 patrons, the Calico Rock School District is steeped in rich tradition and history.  The Calico Rock School District serves the educational needs of those who live in the townships and surrounding communities of Calico Rock, Pineville, Athens, Boswell, Corinth, Creswell, Crossroads, Culp, Dolph, Forty Four, Gorby, Iuka, Jordan, Jumbo, Mount Olive, Optimus, Rodney, Wideman and Wild Cherry.  The Calico Rock School District is blessed with a strong sense of community, and taxpayers have expressed their dedication to the district by supporting a 42.3% tax millage.

Located in Historic Calico Rock, the Calico Rock School District headquarters, the Calico Rock Elementary campus, and the Calico Rock High School campus offer modern facilities and a unique learning environment in a small-town setting.  Continuing a legacy of academic excellence, Calico Rock elementary and high school students consistently perform well on standardized tests and often receive top rankings from the Arkansas Department of Education.  Many graduates of Calico Rock High School excel in college and move on to outstanding careers in a wide variety of professions. Both the elementary and high school provide a challenging curriculum, a diverse range of course offerings, talented teachers, outstanding athletic programs, and a myriad of extracurricular activities.
