Congratulations to the Robotics Team

The Calico Rock Robotics Team competed on Saturday, February 1 in the Northark Robotics VRC Challenge. The tournament was held at the Pioneer Pavilion on the South campus of Northark College. Sixteen teams from twelve schools competed in the VEX Robotics Competition hoping to earn a spot in the Arkansas State Championship to be held March 7 at Arkansas Tech University.

The Calico Rock Team clinched the "Tournament Champions" title as well as the "Excellence Award". Each title alone earns an invitation to the State Championship Tournament as well as an invitation to the 2020 CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship! In addition to these coveted awards the team was awarded the "Design Award" and the "Judges Award". The team was then further recognized by the judges with the "Inspire Award".

Mrs. Hiers said "This VEX competition has been very humbling. We have competed in three VEX tournaments this season. It hasn't been easy but each tournament taught us something new and each time the team has held their heads up and walked away wiser. All those experiences brought us to where we are now. I am so very proud of these students."

The Arkansas State Championship will host forty high school teams where ten lucky teams will be invited to the World Championship to be held in Louisville, Kentucky from April 22-25. For further information contact Mrs. Hiers at Calico Rock High School.
