We will have two dates for the concert this year!

December 9 at 6:00 pm is for the elementary students.

The High School band and choir, along with the 6th grade beginning band, is Sunday, December 12 at 2:00.

Both concerts will be held in the auditorium at the Elementary campus.

Thanksgiving Holidays will be from Wednesday, November 24-Friday, November 26.

The elementary dancers will NOT be performing at tomorrow night's games.  Please plan accordingly.

Mid-Term grade reports are being sent home with students, k-12, today.  Please check with your child to see what their grades are at this time.  

After school tutoring at the Elementary School has been cancelled for Tuesday, November 23.

Basketball games at home on Nov 23rd...

Ballgames were scheduled to start at 4:30 will now start at 5:00.

There will be no senior girls game.  Senior boys and both junior teams will play.

Blessing Bags will be delivered tomorrow, Tuesday, November 23.  

Please make sure you have someone at home to accept these or a cooler with ice to put them in because they will have meat in them.

The Calico Rock School District will be back to on campus instruction on Monday and Tuesday.

1.  The games with ICC tonight are still on. Games start at 5:00 p.m. on the ICC campus.

2.  If you were scheduled to be at Saturday school tomorrow, it is   cancelled and will be rescheduled after the Thanksgiving Holidays.  

There will be no blessing food bags delivered this week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Absenteeism is relatively high this week due to illnesses and/or close contacts.  As a result, we have decided to use AMI days #2 and #3 on Thursday and Friday, November 18 and 19.  There will be no onsite instruction these days.

Junior High games scheduled at Viola on Thursday, Nov 18th, are cancelled.

The Annual Veterans Day Honor Ceremony hosted by the Calico Rock
Gifted & Talented program will be hosted inside this year.

The Veterans Day Honor Ceremony will be held in the Calico Rock Elementary School Auditorium, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow.

All Veterans who wish to participate in the ceremony are asked to arrive at 8:15 to sign in on the official roll call list, under the service branch served/serving. All Veterans will then be seated and announced during the ceremony roll call.

All elementary and high school students will be in attendance to learn about this important day in our countries history and to see firsthand, the men and women that so bravely fight for our freedoms. It is the goal of the Calico Rock School District to never forget the significance of Veterans Day.

FYI - it is now possible for 5-11 year old children to receive the COVID vaccine.  We were informed yesterday (11-4-21) and asked to pass this information along.  All health units across the state will be open Saturday (11-6-21) to provide vaccinations for anyone interested in having their children vaccinated.  The Melbourne Health Unit will be open from 8 am until noon tomorrow.

The FFA will be having their annual Harvest Supper on Friday, November 5, from 4:30-7:30.

Meals will be $12 and will be available for drive-thru pickup only.  No inside dining.

The event will be at the elementary school parking lot.

We are so proud of our students!  They are always up for a competition and when it is to give back to the community they go out of their way to make it a huge success!

For the last 2 weeks the Senior Beta has been sponsoring a Food Drive at the high school.  The food was being collected for the Bridges Program that is on the Elementary Campus but serves the entire school.

Calico Rock High School students collected 4,875 food items, which is substantially more than had ever been collected in the past!!

The Seniors and Juniors will be receiving a popcorn and movie party for collecting the most items.  Way to show great leadership!!!

Our Angel Tree is up in the lobby of the high school! This includes students from PreK-High School. If you are able to help a family this year by purchasing gifts for one of our students, please stop by and get a card off of the tree! If you are unable to sponsor a child, but would like to contribute, you can give a monetary donation that 100% will go towards buying gifts for our students. Our community is always so giving and helps our students so much and we appreciate it! Gifts will be due by November 30th. Thanks for your support! 

Hello Pirate Fans!

Senior BETA is conducting a food drive for our Bridges program this week.

The Bridges program helps our students tremendously by providing the needs of our students whether it be with clothing, food, or supplies to help them with their education.

We would love for you to bring in any non-perishable food items to donate at the game tonight.  We will have a box set up in the lobby for you to drop those items off.

In school, peewee basketball practice will begin Monday, November 8.
