Virtual Day Friday

The Calico Rock School District will have a Virtual Day on Friday, January 29.

Prayers from Pirate Nation to our neighboring Panthers

Words cannot fill the void created by the loss of a loved one, much less the loss of an icon.

Bobby D. Hulse was an icon to the Panther Nation.  He came to Norfork as the high school principal my senior year in 1980-81.  He remained there as principal for the next 40 years shaping lives of both students and teachers alike.  He was my high school principal for only one year, however, he made an impact that has lasted a lifetime.  Mrs. Nordrum was more fortunate,  as she had the experience of having him as her principal for 6 years.

As a neighboring school many of our students, coaches, teachers and administrators have come in contact with Mr. Hulse over the years. It was easy to see his impact on Norfork schools, students, and community.

The Pirate Nation is keeping Norfork in our thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of a leader.

Superintendent

Student of the Week!

Kachina McDole- 12th grade

Kachina has proven herself to be a consistently self-motivated student. She pays attention in class, completes her work, and submits her assignments on time. She puts her materials away and cleans up her workspace without being asked.  She displays good manners and is respectful to her teachers. In a world laden with ruffians and thugs, she exhibits an ever pleasant demeanor and kindness to her fellow students.

KIAP

KIAP CLASS CHANGES:

We have started KIAP classes again, with some changes. We are transitioning from Jujitsu to TaeKwonDo. The student ranks will remain the same, most of the syllabus is the same so the students will have no problem with the change.

By changing to TaeKwonDo we will not be training ground fighting or body throws. This will limit the close, "face-to-face" between students.

Also with only one class per training day, I will be able to thoroughly sanitize the Dojo between classes.

The class times are as follows: (Starting January 19th)

High School (7th-12th): Mondays 3:30 - 4:30

Elementary (4th-6th): Tuesdays immediately after school - 4:30

Little Warriors (1st-3rd): Thursdays immediately after school - 4:15 (shorter class)

Deputy Mark A. Stephen

Student of the Week

Aleah Harden- 7th grade

Aleah is hardworking and always ready to please.  She stays on top of her work, turns it in on time, and always asks me for her makeup work before I even have a chance to tell her what it is.  She is reliable, trustworthy, and has a deep concern for others.  I am pleased to have her in my class.
