CRES Read Across America Week

Read Across America Week is coming next week 3/2-3/6 at Calico Rock Elementary School!

We are celebrating the joy of reading all week long with fun dress-up days, classroom activities, and lots of great books! Reading helps us explore new worlds, grow our imagination, and become lifelong learners!

Students, don't forget to participate each day and show your love for reading!

Families, be sure to ask your students what stories they're discovering this week.

Congratulations Junior High Quiz Bowl

Congratulations to the Junior High Quiz Bowl team for finishing third at the regional tournament held at UACCM (Morrilton) on Saturday!

During the long day, which included playing three games in the morning and three in the afternoon, our team competed wonderfully, representing our school in a fantastic way.

Kudos to Lily Rush, who was named to the All Tournament team for the second week in a row (conference and regional).

Thank you to the families, friends, and school faculty (especially Mrs. Leisha McCoy) who have supported the team this year. And a big shout out to Mr. and Mrs. Erkman, who made the 2-hour plus trek to Morrilton to support Ethan, Nolan, and their teammates.

District FBLA Results

Congratulations to the 8 students going to FBLA State in April!

Mason Brickell placed 1st in Agribusiness. (He got a perfect score on his test!!!!)

The following students also qualified for FBLA State:

Eli Thornton, Keaden Gill, and Triston Scott - Digital Video Production

8th grade Scoliosis Screening rescheduled for next week

The scoliosis screening for 8th grade that was scheduled for 2/19/2026 for the 8th grade class will be rescheduled for 2/23/2026 due to ATLAS testing today and tomorrow at the high school. This is only for the 8th grade class.

Way to go Scarlett & Ruby!!!

The first cow show of the year for Scarlett and Ruby made for a great weekend in Fayetteville at the AJCA show "Showing for a Cause."

Day 1 - Reserve Beefmaster heifer in Ring 1 & 2. Day 2 - Champion Beefmaster in Ring 1. Reserve Beefmaster in Ring 2. 3rd overall in American breed in ring 1.

5th overall in American breed in ring 2. Scarlett and Ruby are learning and progressing every show.

We are so proud of them. It's a celebration!!
